Guild Rules and Policies

Statement
Praxis Seizure was created with the intention of taking a different approach to the current 10 and 25 man raiding content available in the Burning Crusade.

Many guilds are having difficulties coordinating their guild with new, smaller content such as Karazhan. There will always be inevitable difficulties leading a 100+ member guild used to 40 man content into a new setting with 10 man content. Though most guilds act with the best intention of splitting up the raiders in to multiple, even groups, there will always be the difficulty of organizing the multiple runs and the perception of favoritism.

Praxis Seizure’s approach to this is to get out of the mindset of inflating the membership roster, and keeping a very small, tightly knit, organized group of like-minded individuals all trying to achieve the same goal. Praxis Seizure’s intention is to experience all end game content made available, and we believe that a small, elite group is all that’s needed for this.

Leadership
Currently, the leaders of this guild are:
Salabesh - Elder (GM)
Thefranchise - Inner Circle (Officer)
Theln - Inner Circle (Officer)
Melbin - Inner Circle (Officer)
Wysp - Inner Circle (Officer)
Adre - Inner Circle (Officer)
Uribanir - Inner Circle (Officer)

Given our low membership count, we do not currently feel the need for specific class leaders. Should we decide to expand our membership, and it becomes obvious that we need leaders for specific classes, then those titles will be handed to long standing, knowledgeable members. The GM and Inner Circle members are not eligible for class leader.

Recruitment
Membership in the guild is currently by invite only. This isn’t intended to give the impression that we are elitist snobs that are privileging select players with membership. We are doing this because we want the initial group of members to know each other’s personality and play style. We will only be inviting players who we have grouped with and raided with in the past and have shown us that they know their class well and has what it takes to progress. We will most likely be accepting requests for membership once the content we are attempting requires it.

Currently, the officers of the guild all have a say in recruitment, with the final decision being made by Salabesh.

Loot
Praxis Seizure is here to experience content, not to boost member’s e-peen with shiny purples. Gearing out is not the goal, but is incidental in achieving our goal of having fun tackling new challenges. Because of our low membership and small raid content, we feel that a common DKP or similar system does not suit our best interests. We will be operating under God Loot rules.

If you are not familiar with God Loot rules, then here it is in a nutshell: Loot distribution is decided by the raid and class leaders. This decision is based off of need for the item, class priority, attendance, and seniority. This policy will allow the guild leadership to gear up our very gear dependant tanks first to ensure quick progression, and allow us to be sure that loot is given to the most in need and deserving.

Many may feel this policy screams of favoritism, but as I mentioned, loot is not our goal, so we have no desire to gear certain members out and leave the rest hanging. Distribution will be discussed and debated amongst leadership before anything is decided, and often before we even get a boss down.

Legitimate concerns of favoritism or bad decisions with loot distribution should be brought up with Thefranchise, or any other Co-GM not involved in the decision.

Etiquette
As a member of any rank in the guild, it is expected of you to represent the guild as mature and polite. That means that when you go out and pug a 5 man, you are expected to act under proper etiquette when it comes to loot and you are expected to be courteous and reliable, even if the rest of your group isn’t. We don’t want any guild drama, both internally and with other established guilds on the server.

Ninjaing loot from pugs will not be tolerated. And any claim of a member doing so will be fully investigated before a decision on disciplinary action or /gkick is taken.

Raiding
Praxis Seizure is a raiding guild, so we will have set, organized raids at set times every week. Any member wanting to attend a raid is REQUIRED to sign up. Any member who doesn’t sign up will be ineligible to raid. We are going to be strict on this, almost to the point where it may get a little silly, because we need to be well organized and disciplined to make this work with such small numbers.

You are expected to show up to the raid on time and fully prepped. That means repair to full beforehand and bring any consumeables you need. That also means that you should read up on the fights and have a good understanding of what will be required of you.

Forums
Raid times and dates will be posted well ahead of time on the guild forums. All members are expected to sign up on these forums and check them regularly for news and announcements. Raid times will for the most part be at the same times every week, but will be flexible should the majority of the raid require they be adjusted for a particular day.

If you have any questions or need clarification on these policies, please let any of the leaders know.
